Series No. 24 - Under the Redwoods
Lan Jaenicke Series No. 24 played out under a sequoia grove in the iconic Transamerica Redwood Park. This striking setting set the stage for a gathering of artists from various disciplines, all collaborating to showcase the collection in an aesthetic harmony.
Series No. 24 creates a deeply moving atmosphere through rich colors, sensual textures, and designs that balance high drama with sublime wearability. Colors inspired by the winter-blooming saffron flower imbue cashmere with a stunning, unexpected palette. The saturated colors are counterpoised by the elegant use of sober plaid wool and undyed cashmere. Brushed textiles - cashmere, alpaca, cotton - bring an ethereal touch to the collection.
Lan personally selected a musical score, creating a pulsing soundtrack to the show, and given life by an octet from the San Francisco Philharmonic, under the direction of its founder and conductor, Jessica Bejarano.
Dancers from Alonzo King LINES Ballet animated the collection as they moved through the park among the seated attendees, living proof of how fluid and freeing the clothes actually are.
The series added a personal touch through a collaboration between Lan and her mentor, Simon Ungless. Applying his print work directly on a canvas of utmost luxury - double faced cashmere, pure silk - brought a bit of an edge to the collection.
Over four hundred attendees, many swaddled in Lan Jaenicke signature coats, braved the looming rain. We are grateful to those who came to experience the show personally.
Series No. 24 is now available online and at our two San Francisco boutiques, Atelier Lan Jaenicke and Maison Lan Jaenicke. All the Lan Jaenicke x Simon Ungless pieces are one of one, and most sold at the show - a couple remain and are available at the Atelier.
