Caroline Lizarraga's hand-painted butterflies began on canvas, rich with gesture and pigment. From there, the work traveled across mediums: becoming fabric, then pleated texture, and finally garments that become alive only when worn. These pieces exist in layers. Art becoming textile, textile becoming form, form unfolding into movement and, ultimately, memory. Here, the butterfly is a state of being — light-filled, open, radiant.
