TEXTILE STUDIES
Every textile in Series No. 27 tells a story of time. Some preserve centuries of accumulated knowledge and craftsmanship, while others were woven specifically for this collection. Together, they reflect a shared respect for process, material, and the people who create them. They remind us that the finest textiles are not rushed, but revealed through patience, craftsmanship, and time.
Ohmi Zarashi Cotton · Heritage Textile
Since the Edo period (over 400 years)
Originating in Japan's Ōmi region, Ohmi Zarashi cotton has been refined over centuries through repeated washing, stretching, and drying. Celebrated for its exceptional softness, breathability, and quiet character, it reflects a tradition where patience is as important as craftsmanship.
Xiangyun Silk · Heritage Textile
A textile tradition dating back more than a millennium
One of China's oldest silk traditions, Xiangyun silk is transformed through repeated cycles of plant dyeing, river-water washing, mud coating, and open-air drying. The result is a fabric whose richness, depth, and character can only emerge through time.
This season, four distinctive expressions of Xiangyun silk are featured throughout the collection.
Endless Bloom A continuous peony jacquard whose repeating motif evokes the beauty of lace without relying on lace construction. Woven as a single cloth, it combines delicacy with strength while maintaining the durability and versatility of silk.
Lingering Fragrance A jacquard selected for the quiet interplay of pattern, movement, and light. As the fabric moves, the motif gradually reveals itself, echoing the lingering presence of a fragrance long after it has passed.
Faux Bois Inspired by the flowing grain of weathered wood, this jacquard celebrates the beauty of nature through woven texture and organic movement.
Earth Mark The signature crackled surface is created naturally through the Xiangyun finishing process. Formed by mud, water, and time, each piece bears the unique imprint of its making.
Silk Jacquard — Hidden Peony
A richly woven silk jacquard in which the peony motif emerges through the structure of the cloth itself, revealing its depth gradually through light and movement.
Silk Double Cloth — Woven Veil
Two layers of cloth connected by delicate floating threads create a fabric of remarkable depth and lightness. The space between the layers allows light and shadow to become part of the textile itself.
Silk Mesh
An open-woven silk that balances lightness with structure, creating transparency, movement, and breathability while retaining the elegance of natural silk.
Organic Typewriter Cotton
An exceptionally dense organic cotton woven with precision to achieve a crisp hand, remarkable clarity, and enduring structure.
