Lan Jaenicke introduces the Cashmere Pencil Skirt, individually made in Japan from 100% cashmere. Knitted in a fine 12-gauge plain stitch, the skirt follows the body with a soft, streamlined silhouette. A comfortable elasticated waistband offers ease at the waist, while a slit allows freedom of movement and can be worn at the center back or to the side.

Each piece is made by skilled knitters in Iwate Prefecture, in Japan’s Tohoku region. Rather than mass produced, each garment is individually knitted and finished using the precise technique of linking, joining each piece stitch by stitch by hand to create smooth, supple seams that rest gently against the skin.

Measuring Guide

Used for made-to-measure garments.

A: Chest (bust): Measurement around the fullest part of your chest or bust.
B: Waist: Measurement around the narrowest part of your natural waist.
C: Hip: Measurement around the fullest part of your hip area.
D: Shoulder: Measurement of the width of your shoulder.
E: Upper Chest: Measurement of chest around under the armpits, above the bust.

This cashmere knitwear grows softer through repeated washing.

General cleaning instructions:

Wash one piece at a time
Wash with room temperature water (less than 30°)
Do not use a dryer to avoid damage and shrinkage

Gentle machine wash instructions:

Do not use drum-type machine to avoid damaging the fibers
Fold neatly and place in washing net.
Use gentle, hand wash or delicate setting
Shape into original size
Air dry naturally in a flat, well-ventilated area in the shade

Hand washing instructions:

Fill a washing bucket with water and wool detergent, lather and gently press to wash
After rinsing, add fabric softener and press down gently to wash
Remove excess water with a washing machine spin cycle
Do not twist by hand as it may cause wrinkles or stretching
Shape into the original size, and air dry naturally in a flat, well-ventilated area in the shade

Storage

Keep protein-based cashmere protected from mildew and insects
Store only when clean and dry
Moisture-wicking products are recommended inside the drawer or wardrobe
Place moth repellent on of the garment, making sure it does not touch the fabric directly
Do not use more than one type of moth repellent at the same time.

Pilling

Avoid work or exercise involving energetic movement to minimize the tangling of fibers through continual friction
After wearing, brush lightly and let rest for two days.
Do not pull pills
Gently cut away any pills with scissors or a de-piller

Ironing

Moderate temperature (about 140-160°C)
Adjust the shape of the knit, do not press down on the fabric
Let the iron float slightly while steaming and move over gently
